Alphabet owns Google, whose products include Search, YouTube, Android, Chrome, Gmail and Maps, most of them funded by advertising. Google Cloud sells computing and AI services to businesses, and Google DeepMind builds the Gemini AI models along with Google's own TPU chips.
Alphabet's "other bets" include Waymo, which runs driverless robotaxi services in several US cities, and Verily, a life sciences company.
Google was founded in 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin and went public in 2004. Alphabet was created in 2015 as a holding company above it. Sundar Pichai is CEO of both.
