Atelier describes itself as an integrated innovation and manufacturing system for consumer brands, starting with beauty, health and wellness. Brands and creators use it to design, prototype, manufacture and scale products through a single platform instead of managing a fragmented network of contract manufacturers and suppliers.
The platform is built on a manufacturing knowledge graph that maps the capabilities of manufacturers, formulators and packaging suppliers, allowing Atelier to combine several suppliers into one supply chain for a product. The company calls this approach composable manufacturing.
Atelier was founded in 2018 by Nick Benson and Nick Hudson and operates from Sydney and New York with a distributed team. In 2025 it published an industry report on beauty supply chains with Accenture.
