Rivy provides financing for clean energy in Nigeria. Its products include inventory finance for solar vendors and installers, asset finance for homeowners and businesses buying solar systems, financing for micro-grid developers, and carbon finance that connects projects to carbon markets. It also runs an online store for solar equipment.
The company started out as Payhippo, a Lagos fintech that made fast, short-term loans to small businesses and went through Y Combinator in 2021. In March 2025 it rebranded as Rivy and refocused on clean energy, alongside a $4 million raise of equity and debt co-led by EchoVC and All On.
In 2026 Rivy added electric vehicle financing, lending to fleet operators, logistics businesses and dealers for electric two- and three-wheelers, including a partnership with Ecowaka to finance electric tricycles.
