SpaceX

SpaceX designs, builds and launches rockets and spacecraft. Its Falcon 9 was the first orbital-class rocket to land and fly again, and reusable boosters have since made it the world's busiest launch provider. Its Dragon capsule carries crew and cargo to the International Space Station, and Starship, the largest rocket ever flown, is being developed to be fully reusable and to take people to the Moon and Mars.

The company also runs Starlink, a constellation of thousands of low-orbit satellites that provides broadband internet to homes, ships, aircraft and mobile phones around the world.

Elon Musk founded SpaceX in 2002. In February 2026 SpaceX acquired xAI, the maker of the Grok AI models, which also owns the X social network. SpaceX listed on the Nasdaq in June 2026 under the ticker SPCX, in the largest IPO on record.
