Twilio lets developers add communications to their software through APIs: text messages, voice calls, WhatsApp and other chat channels, video and, through SendGrid, email. Businesses use it for things like login codes, delivery updates and contact centres.
It also sells Segment, a customer data platform, and tools for building AI voice and chat agents on top of its messaging network.
Jeff Lawson, Evan Cooke and John Wolthuis founded Twilio in San Francisco in 2008. It listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 2016.
