Vexev is developing VxWave, a robotic ultrasound system for imaging blood vessels in the arm. It combines robotics, machine learning and ultrasound signal processing to scan the limb automatically and produce a 3D model of the vessels with a report, so that clinical staff without specialist sonography training can get usable vascular images.
Its first application is mapping arteriovenous fistulas for dialysis patients. In a 120-patient trial with U.S. Renal Care, results announced in late 2025 showed a 94% scanning success rate with non-specialist staff operating the system. VxWave is for investigational use only and is not yet cleared for sale by the FDA or other regulators. In August 2026 the company raised a further $6 million towards FDA clearance, manufacturing and a US launch.
Vexev was founded in Sydney in 2018 by Dr Eamonn Colley and Dr John Carroll, and operates in Australia and the United States.
