Astra Is Not AGI

Absolutely no chance Astra is AGI. In a few years, we’ll look back and laugh at the prospect.

It’s clearly at the frontier. At times, it’s mind-blowingly good. A monumental feat of human engineering.

But like all models to date, it can make terrible decisions, change its mind at a mere suggestion, and exhibit poor taste, design sense, and writing skills. Its creative outputs just aren’t amazing. They’re a B+ across the board. Solid, but falls short of human capability.

If, by some metric, this is AGI… then the bar needs to be raised. Or maybe my expectations need to drop.

Maybe it’s user error??
