From Design To Code And Back To Design, With AI In Between

I started my career in design; Photoshop mock ups, sliced up and coded into html/css.

Over time, I shifted from design to code; ui libraries and just designed as I went, previewed in the browser.

Now with ai, I’m shifting back to design and spending more time in @figma.

Focusing on pixel perfect design and letting AI handle the code. It’s actually really fun to just design again, and just spend time on the details.

Perhaps this is the ai future?

You spend time on the parts you love, the parts that inspire you, give you energy. Design one day, code the next. You just slip in and out of the modality, tool, skill, task that resonates at that point in time, while handing off the other stuff to ai.

It feels freeing to have ai sidekicks that can augment as needed, while I focus energy and time on tasks that excite and inspire.
