From Figma Holder To Claude Design Convert
Ever since I first used @Figma I was converted.
I bought the IPO. I bought the dip. I'm a holder.
Straddling the underserved intersection of software and design that Illustrator and Photoshop were never built for. Figma hit on those themes that developers knew; components and styles. Structured programmatic design.
But since Opus 5.5, @claudeai Design is all I need.
Describing what lives in my mind's eye. Tweaking. Refining. Sharpening. But with words instead of keyboard shortcuts.
Figma (FIG on TradingView ) is another piece of software that has fallen by the wayside. I tried the connector, the plugin, the mcp. Nothing has felt as seamless and as easy as describing features in Claude Code and seeing the design co-mingled with my conversation, followed up with a simple command: 'Build it'.
The intoxicating power of ideas to reality in an instant.
All of a sudden Figma feels like wading through mud. Every keystroke and mouse click built a mental toll now erased by AI.
Claude Design has made it exhilarating and addictive.
Frightening in its ability to one-shot your mind into submission, as it carries out your commands with swift precision.
Have I lost something? Will the skills gained over decades provide any kind of edge? Or are they rendered worthless in the face of AI?
VS Code forgotten. Now Figma. The rear-view mirror will be littered with titans from a time before.
